It’s one of the most confounding challenges facing San Diego and it’s nothing new: the homelessness crisis. “It’s not realistic to say we’re going to take a twenty year old problem and fix it in a year,” said interventionist and CEO of Confidential Recovery Scott H. Silverman in a very thought provoking segment on KOGO radio this week.
Among the topics covered were: the coming conservatorship laws going into effect, Governor Newsom’s 20 years of promises, Alvarado Parkway’s housing efforts, and the types of emergency series (like detox beds) needed for the thousands of unhoused in San Diego.
It is a dire problem, but one that Scott is familiar with, as he has been working with homeless population in San Diego for decades.
