Ahead of his book “The Opioid Epidemic,” Scott H. Silverman appeared on Fox 2 in Detroit to discuss addiction, the “pandemic within the pandemic.” Scott discussed the challenges that the pandemic have caused to those who struggle with a substance use disorder, as well as mental health issues like depression and anxiety.
The isolation we are experiencing has lent itself to increased drinking and drug use, as well as the need to ‘escape.’ Scott also talks about the three most important words someone needs to say (and often the hardest three): “I need help.”
